The founding day of the Republic of China on January 1,1912.

Chinese Lunar New Year  

 Probably in January or February, depending on lunar calendar.

The most important holiday for Chinese family reunions, and most companies are closed during this  holiday.

Peace Memorial Day 

 February 28

A public day of commemoration for the events of  February  28, 1947

Tomb Sweeping Day  

 April 4

This is a time for Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to pay their respects.

Dragon Boat Festival  

Probably in June, depending on lunar calendar.

The traditional day to commemorate the patriot-poet Chu Yuan in 277 B. C.

Mid-Autumn Festival   

 Probably in September, depending on lunar calendar.

Family reunite for looking at the "Harvest Moon",  and eating moon cakes.

Double Tenth National Day   

 October 10

The ROC' s National Day. There are huge parades around the Presidential Building. And  fireworks display at night.

Taiwan Retrocession Day     

 October 25

This day commemorates the restoration of Taiwan in 1945 from Japan.

Chiang Kai-shekˇ¦s Birthday    

 October 31

The birthday of President Chiang Kai-shek.

Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Birthday   

 November 12

The birthday of the founding father Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

Constitution Day    

 December 25

The constitution day of the ROC
